Hello
Well we have been enjoying the cooler weather and hubby has been trying to get the weed "Velvet Leaf" out of the soybeans. It has been hard. They are growing faster then the soybeans. Our corn is growing fast with the weather we've had.
Not much else to report here. Have been trying to do some sewing, keep the garden looking good everyday housework, etc.
I still have to take pics of our fields and post them. Will do when I am over to them. The fields are a few miles away.

Hello,
We had a good weekend. Right now hubby is out cultivating soybeans. Then after this is all done, he will not be cultivating. Next will be harvesting.
Today seems to be a cooler day where we are. It is to rain, which I hope it does, needed so bad right now.
I was in the chicken coop checking on them and leaned down to pet one and one decided to try and get my eyeball , I was in pain for a long time. The eye seems fine so far. Love my chickens but not when the decide to try and eat parts of me..
Short blog need to get lunch ready to take to hubby.  Should take some pics of crops and post asap.. Till later have a great day..:)

Hello,
Yesterday's travels didn't provide us with a tractor. We went to see it and it had some issues my hubby didn't want to have on it. It looked nice but needed some things done to it before we used it.
So home we went without it. As we were almost home we saw it had rained, didn't measure in the glass though. Enough to dampen things some.
Today hubby is going to try to do some discing and more cultivating, we are just about done with cultivating.
Not much to say so will update when I do.

Hi all,
Its been too hot to do anything outside, although hubby doesn't mind it as much as I do. He left early this morning to cultivate more, then he called to say we are going to western Pa. to look at a cultivating tractor( Oliver 1855).
We do not have AC in truck. Its going to be a hair whipping breeze for us , all windows down. Corn is growing like a weed, well so are the weeds. Soybeans were planted later so they are doing ok.
Need to can rest of my beets but its too hot to even pull them out and use stove inside. We have been eating light , not much stove cooking. Have lots of tomatoes this year, hoping they do not get blight and blossom end rot as they did last year.
I water everyday all my flowers and veggies.
Well until next time, need to get ready to go on our journey. Have a pleasant day!!

Organic farming.  A opportunity for us to see its benefits. We are new with the organic crop farming. Have planted 45 acres of Blue River Hybrids corn, 7 acres of Blue River Hybrids soybeans. So far all look good. Hubby has been out in the fields so much I feel like a farm widow. He cultivates all daylight hours as much as he can.
Next year we will plant more acreage of each crop. We are excited and scared at the same time. The land we are using is not our own, we are renting. As of right now we are renting the spot we live on. we are interested in buying the place which only has 5-7ac of pasture land. So renting crop fields for us is necessary.
The pictures are few right now, I will update later.
