Well today hubby is getting some of our corn fields chopped. Its a small part of our fields.
I just made a cake and bread today. Our daughter is coming here to celebrate her birthday and go to the Bloomsburg Fair.
Not much else happening except hubby has been helping a neighbor farmer, chopping corn .

Last week had our crop ins guys come and they examined the fields. Well some of the corn as of now can make give us 130 bu. an acre. One small field is only 80bu. The crop is not done drying down and the soybeans are still small in pods. We are to chop some and pick some of our corn.
As of right now we are just doing the waiting game for the crops to dry down and find someone to chop for us. We are also waiting on someone who said they will rent us their land to get back to us so we can plow this Fall for Spring planting.
Today hubby is driving truck for a land clearing company, he has been working the past few days for a farmer in driving truck while they chop. I have been doing what I can in my household work. Had some bad days this past week with a bad time of pain and aches..(Lyme Disease)
Fall is here now and the Spring and summer has gone by so fast. Things that we wanted to do didn't get down because of this new adventure we embarked on. But it will still be there and will get done eventually.

Well its been awhile since I wrote and we haven't done much since. As of today we had some rain which we were lacking for a long time, we acquired 2 ".  Thank you God for the help in the growth of our ears of corn and soybeans. We have had such a drought that we are concerned about the proper growth of our plants. We'll see how far this rain gave us in the growing of our crops.

I have been some lazy with not doing anything. I do what I can when I can. I do have more canning to do. I also keep reminding hubby of all that he needs to do and call people. Its been a challenging time so far. Can't wait to see what our crops give us and how much we can give to God for His help..

Hi again,
Our oats are all planted now. Yea!! As I said in the last post we are in desperate need of rain. Our corn cobs are not filling out as they should by now. I know that all business' are risks, well this one is. We are praying that it all turns out because we are depending on the $$ at the end to pay for our $$$ input..

As for me I canned green beans yesterday and peaches today. More canning in the near future. Oh yeah more tomatoes too. I need a break tomorrow so we may be going out for the day to a fair. I love fairs and was at only one this year so far.

Right now for the farming part of things we are waiting, not much else to do right now. Soon we hope to plow up more fields for next Spring crop. A new field. All fields are close by which is real nice on the machines and fuel.

Need to end this and get my canner off the heat so until another time God bless and have a good day ☺

Well hubby had planted some oats a few days ago and still has more to do. He is now getting more seed today to finish. The weather has been holding out for this but the lack of rain is hurting the already planted crops.

Yesterday we helped his brother move from Louisiana to Pa. He is originally from Pa and wanted to be back home. so planting had to wait..

I on the other hand have lots  more canning to do. Since the last pics i took I did sauce, soup, whole tomatoes. Now the peaches, beans, beets, carrots are still needing to be done, phew!!
